The 25th Round of Special Representatives' Talks on the India-China Boundary Question was held in Beijing on 25 August 2026, co-chaired by India's Special Representative and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and China's Special Representative and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The SR mechanism was set up in 2003 as the main negotiating channel for the 3,488 km boundary dispute. The 24th round was held in New Delhi in August 2025 and the 23rd in Beijing in December 2024.

IN-SPACe Chairman Dr Pawan Kumar Goenka said at Business Today's India@100 Economy Summit on 21 August 2026 that ISRO will eventually not manufacture any launch vehicles, with the work moving to private firms and PSUs. PSLV, LVM3 and SSLV technology is to be transferred to industry; SSLV has already gone to HAL. ISRO will focus on research and scientific missions. Jaishankar co-chaired the 27th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) in Moscow with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, during a visit on 23-24 August 2026 at Manturov's invitation. He also met President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The IRIGC's other arm, IRIGC-M&MTC, is headed by the Defence Ministers.

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia launched the revamped Dak Sewa and Dak MITRA mobile apps and inaugurated 14 renovated post offices at a Department of Posts event in New Delhi on 24 August 2026. Minister of State Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani was also present. Dak MITRA serves staff at 1.4 lakh branch post offices; the citizen-facing Dak Sewa app is in 23 Indian languages. A Department of Telecommunications circular directs telecom service providers, from 24 August 2026, to refuse new mobile connections to subscribers who have already reached the permitted limit. That limit is nine connections in most of the country and six in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and the North-Eastern states. The nine-connection cap itself dates to instructions of 9 August 2012; what is new is strict enforcement using the Digital Intelligence Platform, aimed at curbing cyber fraud.
